Mention was made of Brauneck in newspaper articles entitled "Skiing in the Mountains of Lenggries" as early as in the 1920s. Today, Brauneck is a recreational area and holiday destination with an international reputation. It is here that both skiers and hikers will find a vertible mountain paradise - an area of untouched beauty that offers a wide variety of recreational and sports activities.

In 1952, the foundation stone for our success was laid when Brauneck Bergbahn GmbH was founded in Lenggries. It was not long after this that the first cable car made its way up to the peak, opening up the spectacularly beautiful area to visitors from all over the world. Brauneck Bergbahn GmbH has enjoyed a long and steady success story during the more than 50 years since it was first inaugurated.
