Eldorado for skiing enthusiasts
Brauneck Mountain offers visitors a Bavaria taken straight from a picture book. As one of the most attractive recreational regions in this federal state, Brauneck impresses year round with spectacular scenery that delights both young and old.
The ski area offers something for skiers of every ability, from easy and intermediate slopes to the challenging World Cup ski run and the moguls at the top of the Garland run. Everyone will find exactly what they are looking for. What makes Brauneck so attractive is the mix: runs boasting a variety of terrain, flat practice slopes and the black World Cup run. This diversity is also what makes Brauneck the ideal ski area for families as there is something for everyone.
Families with children not only appreciate the numerous blue and red runs that the Lenggries mountains offer but also the three children's areas where young children can take their first slippery steps on the slopes under the professional eyes of the local ski schools. The youngest members of the family are in the best of hands at KinderSkiZirkus Villa Lustig on the Jaudenhang and KinderSchneeLand on the Draxlhang. This is where they will learn how to ski and snowboard with professional instruction tailored to the youngest generation of skiers and guaranteed to provide plenty of fun. The carpet lifts and tow ropes take the little ones up the mountain with a smile on their faces. Another children's area run by ex-alpine ski racer Michi Gerg is located at the bottom station of the Brauneck cable car. But Michi Gerg is not the only star athlete from Lenggries. Successful ski racers like Martina and Andreas Ertl and Hilde and Annemarie Gerg raced down the slopes here as youngesters and still like to visit their local mountain.
Depending on the snow conditions, night skiing on floodlit slopes can also be enjoyed Wednesday to Saturday between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on the Streidlhang next to the bottom station of the Brauneck cable car. More information under the telephone number + 49 8042 50 94 94.
Rustic slope-side restaurants
Brauneck has more to offer than just great skiing on great slopes. It boasts more slope-side restaurants than any other ski area in Bavaria. But it is not just the sheer number of slope-side restaurants that impresses but the fact that they include particularly rustic and beautiful ones. The slope-side restaurants on Brauneck entice many a winter sport enthusiast to make more stops than strictly necessary and enchant with their rustic Bavarian charm that has nothing in common with industrial self-service canteens. Sixteen in number, they add a unique dimension to the ski area and extend an attractive invitiation to hungry guests to come and try the hearty snacks and regional specialties. One or another skier practices the art of "chalet hopping" on Brauneck to ensure that they enjoy the cozy ambiance and typical Bavarian hospitality at all levels.
